In THUG Pro East LA is/used to be the fan favorite level but I don't like it personally because it leans on grinding boost rails and then acid dropping 300ft and launching up to air and wallplanting to grind the boost rail again in the middle of the map and it's not my thing. Not dissing the level just saying and you probably didn't like it for these reasons.

The existence of Sick difficulty makes your first statement null doesn't it? The option to play on Sick is there the first time you play the game..

I think they learned from THPS4 feedback
>4 had you searching for the goal giver npcs and you could only teleport to them if you found them once, this was probably seen as not fun enough to keep it so you can just teleport straight to them
>after finishing a goal in 4 you get at least 15 seconds of "congrats!" "here's 250$!" "here's a stat point, put it somewhere now!" "do you want to save?" messages, where in THUG1 when you finish the mission you just roll of and it asks you to save only between chapters and applies stat points when your skills improve

I'm just as biased as the next guy on which game feels the best but I have fun playing THUG1 on Sick on PS2 and it takes me maybe 3 hours to finish in a sitting, give or take watching cutscenes, and then 1 hour to finish the leftover goals depending on how skillful I feel at the time. Of course something like THPS3 holds up too, you can have two different playthrus if you pick a Street and a Vert skater because the objectives are a bit different.
