I agree with this sentiment. AAA games are mainly defined by

FF7 embodied all of these. The advertising was insane, Sony helped them with it. Graphics? Cinematics? No comment, it was basically all what people talked about. FF7 also predated other AAA traits, such as casualized "press A to win" gameplay which is often overshadowed by the "interactive movie" aspect.
Still, the difference is that it's not soulless corporate slop, it had really talented people working on it. The characters and the music have rightfully become iconic. But I think that also unlike AAA games, a lot of the stuff about it has aged terribly, from CGI and barebones 3D to slow gameplay and prerendered environments. Some games like OoT would only need a facelift for a remake, FF7 needed to be completely reworked
