If you're not willing to help support something because it doesn't specifically provide a benefit to you, that's fine. Yeah the "Cmon! Just do it! Nobody's looking!!! Who cares!!" approach doesn'tt really work beyond the individual level. You might think nobody knows who owns the rights, but rest assured companies that go around collecting IP rights usually have an entire division dedicated to know what they own the rights to, and if some organization starts dumping and posting ROMs of their shit they'll do something about it.
