Well, that's the thing, anon. There are a lot of text-edit hacks of Final Fantasy VI, but very few actual translations. "Translation" implies a translator was involved. All these hacks are doing are combining existing scripts (Woolsey, RPGOne, and Slattery, which itself a heavy edit of Woolsey's -- cross-referencing the likes of Legends of Localization and Kwhazit analyses along with a dose of machine-slop) under the guise of "relocalizing" the game. Even the hack >>11731461 mentioned called "Retranslated" wasn't by a translator, because of course, these dumb kids have SO MANY resources to pull from that they don't NEED to be a translator to be better than the translator they've been groomed into thinking has been a terrible daddy in their little echochamber, all they need is a magic elixir of QoL crap to cover it up and impress the plebs (this is why Ted Woolsey Uncensored Edition has so many forks and how Rodimus Prime became worshipped as a holy figure). If you just want a script port of the GBA retranslation actually done by a professional, I'm afraid you've have to deal with TWUE's amateur "enhancements" baked in.
I watched some of the LoL streams and that compared Woolsey, RPGOne and Slattery, and it seems like an open-and-shut case: Slattery wins and has always won. The problem is that Tom Slattery himself also doesn't have a great rep among the rewriter crew because he famously took pot-shots at the RPGOne guys for cramping his style. That and despite their irrational hatred of Ted Woolsey, they can't actually bring it in themselves to destroy all of it, so they try to make their own EN/JP combo that HAS to be better! With blackjack and hookers! And TWUE? It started out similarly until LoL showed how full of shit RPGOne was, then Rodimus regressed his hack with MAJOR SCRIPT EDITS (aka 'gotta keep my hack at the top of the list').
