>The only ones I've seen like this are the ones that use old DRM, the "patch" for this is using a cracked exe, which a lot of people nowadays would do even for games they own a physical disc of just for the convenience of not having to keep it in your disc drive (assuming you even still have one of those these days).
I have a 200+ disk library of windows and dos games including big box and cd/dvd case formats as well as operating systems etc. I use win 10 as a hyperV host for windows XP on a low wattage PC with an nvidia 1030 and 16gb i7 have enabled SecuROM this is LAN only etc.

I have DVDs in everything and have a physical library of 3000+ movies and boxsets including the best of every genre and the top 250 TV shows along with 500 360 games, 400+ PS2 games, 80 PS1 games and 200+ PC games, all original in their boxes. I like the redundancy between the PS2/PS1 and 360s and PCs and Laptops with optical drives and my two pioneer DVD players and my blueray. I have also built up a large library of books, all the books I will ever want to read or need from a complete set of penguin classics through to all the sci fi and fantasy and philosophy and core tests for the sciences and math as well as history, biography, reference, electonics, programming,
philosophy, thrillers, comedies,theology plays, poetry etc
I hope to be off the internet in a few years aside for a phone in a drawer for checking bank balances and limited email use. The internet is dying. I was early on it in the first half of the 90s and I am going to be early off it. The rest of you will catch up with me again in 10 or 20 years, Relying on an internet connection or a corporate server to activate and activate games or media is insane. I will be OK with my books and movies and games and shows (I have enough to last decades). You won't be ok.
