IBM PC debuted on August 12, 1981, after a twelve-month development. Pricing started at $1,565 for a configuration with 16 KB RAM, Color Graphics Adapter, keyboard, and no disk drives

April 23, 1982 ZX Spectrum 16K/48K
released on 23 April 1982 with 16 KB of RAM for £125 or with 48 KB for £175 and could use any consumer tape player/recorder for data storage.

So in the early 80s period of the spectrum an IBM PC was completely unaffordable (over 3000 in todays dollars that's 16K with no disk drive). IBM only cared about selling the the PC to business. The spectrum with 48K was equivalent to a barely affordable 800 dollars today. You don't mention digital equipments DEC and CPM which was bigger at the time

That being said most early IBM PC games were text advetures, stuff like zork, colossal cave, zork and the infocom games, text adventures were huge on the spectrum as well not neither was better than the other. You don't really get PC gaming taking off with stuff llke red barron, gunship (1986) etc until at earliest the 286 with a soundcard and that's not even out until 1984 (286) and again VERY expensive. Most games released o PC and Amiga and ST simulatneously and the ST and Amgia had better audio

Havig been there the answer is no, games for the 286 PC were not any better than the Amiga or ST. People were playing civ, populous, sim city on both but there was far better games develpment for the ST and Amiga. The PC really starts staking off with the 386 which was 1987.
