NTA but you need to install mysys2 and python and probably some other crap I'm forgetting onto your pc(and keep it on there because the port won't work anymore if you get rid of it for some reason even though its already compiled) git the port builder and then go through the installer that bombards you with a thousand different options most of which are just shitty mods and texture packs and then finally build the port which usually results in some kind of error for no real reason and you just have to keep hitting retry until it magically works. And what do you get when you finally get it working? Like the anon said its buggy, has visual inaccuracies and doesn't have very many improvement tweaks unless you want autistic shit that fucks with the game too much like mario odyssey mechanics or some other gay shit. A recomp port would require far less hassle and have better results for those of us that just want to enjoy the original game.
