NES. 3D does some interesting stuff mainly with the jobs but is harder, including in a few bullshit ways. You can check it out afterwards, but bear in mind that it takes a while to get to the jobs. If you want a watered down in-between of either version, the PR.

There's probably enough translation patches that you can patch a JP SNES version.
