You're exaggerating, they're not terrible controllers. The Saturn portion of the controller might even be better than their first attempts (their original wireless Saturn pads feel closer to the SLS Saturn pads for the PlayStation than the original controllers - the dual-analog controllers have meatier button presses that replicate the OEM controllers more).

The major issue with them is they are restricted to how Switch controllers are mapped, meaning it doesn't actually have as many inputs as it does buttons (L1 and R1 are mirrored with Z and C). There's also a problem with how they pair with their own dongles (they can only pair with one of the two they ship with at a time and need to be re-paired if you want to switch dongles - they were supposed to fix this but it never seemed to happen and instead they just released a patch that let them be used as USB wired controllers instead, which is a sloppy band-aid).
