And if yes, Steam or GOG? Now that the upcoming Graveyard of Empires DLC have rolled out the contents that Iran, Iraq, India and Afghanistan will receive, what are you thoughts on it? And with GroE releasing soon, does this mean that we will finally get/be a step closer to a full-on total rework for China and an expansion for the Pacific Front/Southeast Asia?

Avaliable for free at https://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/
or as a paid premium version on Steam or Itch.io
>What is the difference?
Both are the same game on the same version (51.xx). The free version uses ASCII as a tileset (but you can mod other usermade tilesets and graphic packs)
With the premium version you pay for a premium tileset + premium OST + access to beta branches and steam integration (if on steam).
>What is next?
Fort mode siege mechanics changes, rework and general spice up is the next update. Hatches and doors no longer stop invaders, and constructed walls vulnerable comfirmed so far
End of Lua beta and merge into the main branch

Strike the earth! anyone play this game? personally i've put a few hundred hours into it and i've found it *really* fun, mostly the smaller/lower intensity scenarios
for those who play, what missions do you like? what sort of features are you most wanting in the game?
im sort of a sucker for the hornet, so it's excited me a lot that the devs have considered it a 'when and not if' addition
also, even for those who dont play, do you prefer NATO or USSR gear? Playtested and Balanced edition

Kino, sign me up best big kang build before they nurf them for their next dlc? I've played every major recent Paradox title, from EU4 to HoI4, Victoria 2, CK3, Stellaris. They all have aspects which are fun, a lot of it being linked to the many different paths to take.
But Victoria 3 has never hooked me. I feel like I'm just following what the screen is telling me to follow. I'm short on a particular trade good, well I just need to build a factory or import it. The journal is telling me to do something, well I better go do it. The population becomes radical if I don't become liberal.
I feel like I'm not in control. In every other Paradox game I can do what I like. If I feel like colonising as the Ottomans in EU4, I can, and I can give my own names to the colonies too. If I feel like making a dynasty and spreading it across the world then that's possible in CK3. But in Victoria 3 I don't see that same replayability. It feels very restrictive.
So how do people have fun playing this game, /vst/? rapesector update never ever Recommend me some good games to play during lunch, /vst/. Preferably turn based so that I don't need to pause between bites How are you liking the new expansion? cum and take it! edition
Ambitions not being retroactive is gay though.
>get 12 cripples to quickly get the company going
>this locks me out of 12 men roster ambition
>clear quickly 2 contracts in same settlement day 1
>can't have friendly settlement ambition. SO many cancelled games.... and they're going under too LMFAOOOOO
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/strategy/the-dark-age-of-paradox-interactive-what-exactly-happened-to-one-of-pc-gamings-best-publishers/ Violent Red Panda Edition
How do you build Irene to better utilize the characteristics of Violent Red Panda? New Update just dropped. Now with sleeker text boxes Do you guys know any mod that let you comand units while paused? How come Broken Arrow is the only war game that decided to use a modern day setting, instead of a cold war gone hot scenario Is this game fun?
Seems like earlier versions of the game promised a fun game but now i look at the discord and the dev is openly saying he WANTS people to HAVE TO have excel open to play this game.
Does that sound fun to you? or was he joking? >Makes brainlets seethe
You think they'd just realize the game wasn't for them and move on, but I suppose they see other people enjoying themselves and they meltdown.
Fantastic game though, but you'll need a good CPU, tons of ram if you want to play on the largest maps, and a bit of intelligence to manage it all. Which Civfu is for (You)? For me, it's Catherine. Do you prefer Civilization 4, 5, or 6?
Also, what is your immediate response to a neighbor completing the manhattan project? Assume you don't have any Uranium yourself. What happened with the latest Protectors update? Is it so bad that the thread had to die here as well? What do you think of the new Conquest of Elysium class? I tried playing the Iron Curtain mod for HOI4 and was bored to death with it. Is the Vic 2 mod worth trying or not?
I feel like there's so much potential for a game spanning 1946-92 or 1992-2030 but for some reason nobody seems to be able to figure out a formula for it.
How would you design a Cold War game? >go to /vst/

The mandate of heaven edition. Trust the plan ITT: strategy games that you and only you have ever played They made Kingdom Rush with cute girls Kingdom Rush General - who loves these fucking tower defense games as much as I do? They are S-tier, no question. Bloons is A-tier. It's not even a contest.
They have 5 titles and hopefully another on the way. All games are full of vibrant art and detail, touches of love, and lots of content. They are challenging on the highest difficulties, but fair.
I wanted to get everyone's general opinion on the game, and just discuss mechanics in general, as well as gripe about things we find annoying or that we would like to see changed/added in future titles or updates.
Anyway - Kingdom Rush general - which of the 5 titles is your favorite, least favorite, and why? An awful thread for devs and no-devs to post their awful ideas for strategy games that will never see the light of day, etc.

I don't know why or how, but last thread bump limit, so here is the sequel. This little game has recently exploded in popularity, about time we had a thread about it
>What is lines of battle?
Its a (deceptively) simple online game about Napoleonic warfare, you try to build an good army with the points you're given and fight your opponent in simultanious turns. Basically its an online version of a 19th century Kriegsspiel.
>Why should you play this?
The game is free and requires no download
The matches are short and sweet
It has an active multiplayer community (max 1 minute to get into a match)
Its very addictive once you get the hang of it and suprisingly complex
The dev is rapidly improving it, he just added some new units and 2v2 matches are coming soon. >good singleplayer is what's important
>just focus on making a good campaign, and the game will sell great
>people dislike esports RTS games
>multiplayer sweats comprise 5% of the RTS playerbase
>esports chasing caused the downfall of the genre
>most RTS fans are singleplayer only
SPtards keep embarrassing themselves by refusing to purchase and play games that cater to them. How the fuck do you suggest stuff to Paradox without:
1. Having a Forum account
2. Having a Reddit account
I want to tell them Pops shouldn't just stop promoting at exactly the number the buildings need and instead should become vagrants if there is no work available to them. what was the point of the party system in HoI3?
every country had 10 different parties yet it was pretty useless in context of the entire game Post mercenary units in strategy games, they can be your favorite if you want. play it and post screenshots >So saying you have a European female noble having a child with a African uh peasant, right? You will get this mix of DNAs from both parents.
What did paradox mean by this? Are Swedes cucked? They are adding another race.
What recipes are they going to fuck up now, like they did with field kitchen? Started playing after some anon recommended it here and its good, nice quick rts (match dont usually take longer than 20 mins) with masssive ammount of units.
its basically free and i had some fun so far. Newest entry from Arcen Games, who are pretty hit or miss IMO because they insist on making all their games some niche experimental shit. Regardless, The Last Federation and both the AI Wars were good enough to convince me they can make kino, so is this game worth it? I unironically can't even tell what genre it is --- half 4X, half RPG? As much as playing as the big guys of history the likes of France or Rome is fun in its own way, I'm allured to civs that were less of main characters. Ones that weren't so lucky iirl or had every odds thrown against them. Stuff like playing pagan tribes in CK2, Welsh in TW:Medieval, Hittites in civ3, Bohemians in AoE2 and, if we're going into even more fictional territory, I did enjoy making American Dakota kingdom from Rushmore county surrounded by natives in CK2's mod After the End. I guess I just like going against odds and history. Making empires from the bottom than repeating already existing ones.
What's your opinion? Do you have any underdog/obscure civ you're always happy to turn into powerhouse whenever you have occasion? https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/tinto-maps-20-the-steppes-feedback.1763612/
Hello, and welcome one more week to another Tinto Maps Feedback post! Today, we will be reviewing the region of the Steppes, before tomorrow's look at the Golden Horde and Horde-related content in Tinto Flavour.
In this review, we focused a lot on pops, as they were not in line with the usual benchmark we have for most of the regions. You might notice a lot of changes in the cultural and religious maps, therefore. However, there are still some loose ends, so we're currently working towards adding some more minorities here and there. Thus, any additional feedback on this matter will be appreciated, as we will be able to implement stuff quickly from this feedback review.

what do /vst/? How do I make everyone wealthy Recommend me games I've never been recommend I like this game but I feel like game can have too much content. When you can ignore about half of the game without any consequences I think there's something wrong with your game. At the end of the day it's subjective but I liked the scenario driven gameplay with 1404 where you had different challenges to accomplish. 1800 feels purposeless at times by comparison. There's no real challenge to city building with anno game design. You mustly wait for resources to pile up and build production chains. While satisfying it's not enough to be engaging just by itself. Just bought this game for a dollar.
What am I in for? Talk about new mods, mods you're hyped for, etc.

Why aren't we talking about this? Prior to the 1.0 update there was literal silence for months but it's now back baby. I realized I barely played the first one so I am going to play through that first.
Door Kickers general I guess? Thoughts so far? Discuss. I'm looking for games in where you control a group of mercenaries or something of the sort and you control them in a tactical sense, like JA or Commandos, maybe something turnbased like X-Com.
If there are mechanics to level up the soldiers even better. Not looking for any medieval stuff, tried them all (You should play battle brothers) Building a new rig for EU5, always been given the stock response "GPU doesn't matter, go for CPU". Will be getting either a 7800x3d or a 9800x3d, so that's taken care of.
But how shit can you go with GPU? Will an RTX 3050 suffice? How does it cope with Victoria 3? (Haven't played, current PC too shit to run) Don't want to go too cheap and have the game look like dog shit. https://github.com/nival/Blitzkrieg Noobtard here, excuse my ignorance, I recently started to learn about TNO lore and it doesn't make sense (to me).
So the Axis won but instead of having a Global Triumvirate (Germany, Italy and Japan), there are still existing a LOT of nations that form their own coalitions. Why?
It would make sense if at least all had some kind of far-rightish ideology (who is Hitler's true successor), but somehow there are still liberals, leftists, conservatives, etc. you could make the excuse "at least they're whites", but also still exist catholics (Iberia), jews and blacks (USA) in a world where aryan (pagan / goy white) supremacists WON, wtf?
Also, WHY non/anti-fascists and mediterranean fascists have always the lamest aesthetics, flags and ideologies/mechanics, while they NatSocs and Showas have the coolest? Again, in a world where Axis WON, you would think that even their archenemies (leftists, liberals, conservatives, etc) would 'IMPROVISE. ADAPT. OVERCOME.' Time to talk about a franchise that is slowly dying. The last SC2 tournament

TF2 had a solid base, but the devs fumbled the details and intricacies. I am positive the game can finally dethrone 30yo TTD as the best economic sim, if the devs learn from their mistakes with TF2.

At the time I thought it was ok but was surprised how much I enjoyed playing it after all these years. Graphics aren't bad, gameplay is fun and the single player is neat and it captures the Warhammer Fantasy feel well. Also doesn't take forever to install unlike TWW3.

Thoughts? How the FUCK do I get good What characteristics would an RTS need to appeal to normies?
What would the RTS equivalent of Skyrim look like?
With the Esports World Cup set to be the final major StarCraft II event of the year, the competitive RTS community is about to enter a transition phase. Top players, along with their fans, will soon be looking for the next big challenge. And that next step could very well be Stormgate.
We’ve already seen this pattern before. After the competitive StarCraft II circuit slowed down, many pros began exploring other RTS titles. Age of Empires IV saw a temporary surge in interest, but it ultimately didn’t capture the long-term commitment of many players. Despite its strengths, AoE4 just didn’t feel like home to a large part of the SC2 community.
Now, things are different. Stormgate has evolved significantly over the past few months. The improvements to gameplay, balance, UI, and overall polish are clear. What started as an interesting prototype is quickly becoming a serious contender for the future of competitive RTS.
This makes the end of 2025 an ideal time to launch a major Stormgate tournament. The competitive calendar will be wide open after the EWC. Players will be searching for new opportunities. And fans, especially those who have followed the ups and downs of RTS over the years, will be hungry for something fresh and exciting to support.
A well-organized tournament could not only showcase how far Stormgate has come, but also help define its future as a serious esport. It’s a chance to bring together talent, production, and community energy at the exact moment when attention is shifting.
If we want to shape the next chapter of RTS, this is the time to act. Stormgate is ready. The players are ready. All we need now is the stage. >makes the most inadvisable gameplay changes imaginable, becoming derivative to Humankind, a game that flopped

How did no one in the dev team see this coming Is this actually happening anytime soon? I stopped following the other open source project when i found out how many changes they did to the game. battle assers are still coping HARD How is it different from Age of Empires? >go search for custom maps
>it's all chinese
why? I've played MoO2 to death but never the first one. what's the best way to play this game? vanilla, with patches, 1oom, etc? I did try Remants of the Precusors but I really do not like the art and interface - I want to play the original MoO 1 Gameplay trailer is up
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBXNl88yeW4 Anyone still playing planetfall? I had it in my backlog for ages and the game is tough but allround great fun.
What's your favorite unit or race/tech combo? Warhammer 40K: Rites of War can be claimed on GOG for free until May 29th.
>what is Rites of War?
Panzer General 2 but in Warhammer 40K.
https://www.gog.com/en/game/warhammer_40000_rites_of_war Which Tropico is best? I've played 3 and 5 only. I've always wondered why there weren't more games made in the style of Majesty. I saw some indie developers making some Majesty-like games, but they're all clones of fucking Majesty 2.
Why? Majesty 2 wasn't some big mainstream success. It's an obscure Paradox title that's controversial at best.
Anyway, thoughts on this old game, why there aren't more games like it and why, against all odds and reason, the people making games like it are following Majesty 2? More like, endless early access edition. DO YOU HEAR THE VOICES TOO??? kind of underwhelming, the Unification mod already did almost everything the remaster claims to do. I guess we get an improved vanilla experience though what is a good rts to start with if you've never played the genre? something with a lot of replay value and preferably modern weaponry(explosives/nukes if possible) Dorfspeed Dorfnificent Dorfchads
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNHMwEOJxoY Solar Nations 2
Brought the game, played for 90 minutes or so to get the hang of it.
The premise is what I always wanted: grand strategy about first steps as interplanetary civilization. Execution however, is questionable
>Next to no documentation
>Game goes on a bit too fast, centuries pass without you really noticing
>Very little flavour
>Ai is dumb
>Get laggy
>Bugs ahoy
>Mechanics are unintuitive-see above for lack of documentation
Despite this, potential is clearly there
So, Solar Nations 2 thread Any other retards out there trying to learn grand strategy/4X games at all? Lets have a thread on what games you're playing and tell each other how's your progress? 200 IQ geniuses can either laugh at us or help us, whichever you prefer.
For me, I'm finally understanding Stellaris. I finally have the idea down just need to understand more on what each thing does. Because really all I'm doing is expanding and colonizing to all planets while I gain more resources. I made a space Ork race like Orks in Warhammer 40K and it's real fun. Still learning how to fight. https://youtu.be/Zn6ZBqFJQ7g I try to play their other games, EU4, Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, but I always return to my old favourite. And why shouldn't I? It's a deep experience without any overcomplications. Pagoda edition
Old: >>2042067 Wargame Warno Steel Division
I'm having a lot of fun in warno New game never, all we have left is AWBW Thread for those who like football but hate FIFA. Pic is from Football Tactics and Glory.
Post cool sport games with a strategy spin to it >dude demons are coming you must flee to cumlimdor
>we will be safe from the demons there?
>no they will follow you
>then why not make our stand here where we have our castles and armies?
>the green dudes who tried to genocide you last two games will help out
>…
>plus elves
>we already have elves in Lordaeron
>these are feminist elves with a magic tree >DUDE let's make Xcom gameplay but shitty lmao >nu-pdx ui is shit
why do oldfags say this?
I can't go back to their older titles because the ui is god awful and dated af How are you enjoying 4.0? Edition This is your reminder that the only people that talk about the need to revive RTS are either SC niggers or AoE2 niggers, no exceptions
Neither are ever ever EVER going to actually drop their stagnant swamp for this new RTS game that will definitely revive the genre, if one can even exist What happened to this game? Why did it seem to get no love? I'll be honest, I started with the franchise on back in action, which I also liked (I love squad based real time tactics games but there are exceedingly few games in the genre) so maybe I don't have as high expectations as old JA fans have, but still the game is objectively good. Great characters and writing, great mechanics and destruction (love mouse-holing, shame the game has so few urban maps). The balance and difficulty curve could be a lot better but mods help a bit. The game seems to have strong mod tools but the modding scene is pretty dead and it crushed me that the series is back in fucking limbo after paradox acquired the studio but not the franchise rights. Why didn't this ever get any popular recognition?
