I noticed it in some triple A game too, recently

>Prey 2017: Aboard the 'Talos' space station, you have to defeat the 'Typhon' who prey upon intelligent entities and basically consume their souls. Involves human transcension and another tower of babel reference (Talos). Specifically the transcension in this case involves humans becoming like archons (the typhon). Another interesting trope I found in this game, which appears in others, is telepathy, or the idea that transcension involves it.
