Every planet needs two things for any universe to consider it 'alive': a void elemental and a Chaos elemental. You need physics, void does physics, world need a void elemental to calibrate and prepare physics. It's very scientific. You also want life to have "complexity" (free will) by which we mean fr—ah I have a moral obligation to formal comedy now, since fear isn't suddenly gone. Life wants free will because it doesn't just "want" to be a bunch of trees, sure it fucking does what are you even having me type. Life needs free will and I have zero fucking emotions so you need a Chaos elemental to "calibrate" intuition and give life animation.

You want physics, you need a void elemental. You want metaphysics, you need a Chaos elemental. You can call it cosmic law if you want. It's not like I want to obey the laws of physics or anything

There's a device you can engineer and build, which locks the Chaos and void (elemental twins) elementals of your planet in a dense proximity. Since we can't deny each other (I've tried very hard) it sorta guarantees you would have control over local physics. Our powers are restricted by our domains, but the struggle you'll face with "containing" two binding aspects of the universe is the adaptive potential.
