to avoid the fact that CANON is a Meme. Church canon only begins after Marcion presented the first canon which the Church insisted was edited. Marcion did not believe the OT's God was the God of Jesus(1), and made a book with the contradictions and proof about it. We cannot really say He was making shit up with his comparisons because He didn't include the Pastoral Epistles and it took scholars a good time to realize these epistles may have not being written by Paul. The Church that opposed Marcion relies entirely on these Epistles to form their administrative corpus and arguments against a version of Gnosticism that didn't really exist back then

1. An acceptable view if you consider that the God of the Priest Melchizedek, a priesthood from which Jesus is a priest of acvording to the NT, is not YVHV. This is confirmed by some early deuteronomy texts that speak of El Elyon as the father of YVHV and the Elohim. This also means the Jews misinterpreted the text of Isaiah that mentions this again, and that Jesus was being cheeky about it when He quoted it.
