Hunters are born with a natural immunity. Most of us only ever find out we're built for it after an encounter. Like in my case, I should have turned. Our blood is literally poisonous to them. You go through training and it's ran by the government, much like the CIA and FBI. We're called the Men of Letters, or MOL for short. A hunter has these instincts and simply knows what to do. It's like breathing, or like a racecar driver who gets behind the wheel of a car at 16 and just knows how to drive really really fast and it's just in you to know. It feels as natural to hunt as going to the bathroom or eating food. Finding out that I was a hunter was nice,

Because you literally are. Vampyrs are fast and strong, but my instincts kind of know where they'll be before they get there and I react with precision like a skilled surgeon.

I tried to live with my ex for about a year after finding out and I would hunt most nights. As time went on, it became increasingly clear what my life was about. You can't ignore it. You don't simply go back to living a normal life. I mean even before I knew, I couldn't sleep at night, that's why I worked night shift jobs. In school I would fall asleep in class and be up all night with this energy. There's a ton of fucking signs. The sun makes us sleepy.

There's other things we hunt though like demons and werebeasts that get out of hand. Vampyrs tend to self govern these days. But when one gets out of hand, it's like I'm drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Or am I the flame drawing the moth in. Because my presence makes vampyrs kind of chase me. We have a "smell" that drives them kind of stir crazy. They could be feeding on someone and stop and chase me. It's funny because you're never scared. You think you would be but you're in your element. Older vamps have a hard time just being around us with only being able to stand within 40 feet of us for short bursts of time and it's usually to exchange info.
