Intent and practices aiming to refine you spiritually (meditation etc) matter. Otherwise, yes, how the fuck you think people who aren't any occult practitioners still develop and move on after lifetimes? It's just concentrated, conscious effort gets you there faster, the same way exercising regularly on top of physically active life makes you more fit and faster than being somewhat active.

Because you lack imagination and intelligence to use subtle shit well. A good example is a fireball - I reckon even most powerful living masterss wouldn't be able to make the flimsiest one without great struggle - there's too many laws you need to breaks and too much wasteful audiovisuals. But you can still more reliably than with any fireball, in a way that no armor or distance can stop you, kill a person if you're reliably proficient by creating tiny, but significant disturbance of certain internal organs.

I will tell you now - you will never develop any such avilities, not as you, with your character and attitude. Not that there aren't any to develop, but if you, when reality doesn't fit your expectations, immediately jump to sarcastic mockery and intentional misinterpretation of internal change leading to potential for external change as "hyping yourself up", you have no chance for much of any progress.
You really seem to be one of the people >>40108230 speaks about - a cynic just looking for powers and boons in the mundane world and thus unlikely to ever get any when smarter practitioners will develop without seeking any and get some as a side effect of their development, even if they won't do anything with them and move on.
