the majority of child sex slave/human trafficking in the united states are pimped out/sold by their parents or runaways whoring themselves out a la epstein. Kidnapping is risky and starts a manhunt. Much easier to go to the ghetto and offer to pay some soulless welfare queen to rape her daughter, or find a homeless teen running away from abusive parents and offer her food and shelter in an offer she can't refuse with no exit clause.

I know two people who work in entirely different volunteer agencies to help victims of human trafficking. None of it is "oh let's help you get back to your parents." That's never the problem. The services they provide are pretty much all assistance for living as an emancipated minor or just learning to live in society in general because the child has never known a life as a proper human.
And my town isn't event that big. Two separate volunteer agencies that don't work together and whose volunteers mostly didn't even know each other existed, in a town of roughly 75K people, both pretty much at capacity.
We are admittedly one of the 4 major refugee taking cities in my state, so there's probably a certain amount this could be pawned off on third worlders having no concept of basic civilized morals and used to selling their daughters to strange men for goats, so if anything rental seems like an improvement. But based the stories, they're definitely not the primary cause.
