Either the Greeks did not know, or the main myth hid it, but Hercules was a chthonic hero who had a connection with snakes. The most famous and main hero of the civilizers and hunter is Hercules, aka Nimrod, who was called the hunter, aka Ninurta. There is a Sumerian myth about Ninurta changing his mind about returning the tablets of fate and Enki sets a huge turtle on him, apparently this was a turning point. At some point (apparently someone is telling the truth to the Sumerians), Ninurta becomes Nergal (=Ninanzu)=Erra and sits in the underworld holding two clubs in his hands and surrounded by lightning, this is HADAD. Baal Hadad, Ninurta and Hercules. The Greeks mixed up the myths, but the god of lightning sits in the underworld, he himself is the son of a higher god. This is Susanoo-no-Mikoto who was banished to the underworld for rebellion.

Heracles (Melkart) was the most important builder, hero and civilizer. This is the most important god of the Phoenicians and for good reason. Apparently, they still did not want to recognize him as a god and he decided to raise a rebellion by building the Tower of Babel
